HEALTH SCREENINGS

Screenings are used to provide employees with individualized information about a specific part of the well-being. All screenings are conducted by trained professionals, and after a screening occurs, the employees receive education on the screenings results and areas in which they can improve their well-being. For screening appointments, employees sign up online for individual sessions with the health professional. Duration of a session will depend on the type of screening. Please note that there will be no diagnoses as screenings are for educational purposes only.

BACK SCREENING

A health care professional (physical therapist, RN/LPN/PA) takes employees through a series of exercises to assess spine and back pain. Based on the brief assessment, the professional provides informational material on how to reduce back pain and improve posture and overall spine health.

FITNESS CONSULT

Employees meet with a fitness professional to talk about fitness goals and assess overall fitness. Depending on the goals, employees are asked to perform simple fitness tests such as toe touches, pushups, and squats to test fitness level and ability. The fitness professional also provides additional information about the importance of physical activity and how to fit it into daily life.

FLEXIBILITY SCREENING

This test measures flexibility of the lower back and hamstring muscles. Flexibility testing is important in assessing range of motion, muscle weakness, and muscle imbalances. A fitness professional guides an employee through a simple sit and reach test to assess flexibility. They also provide educational materials to help employees increase flexibility, reduce pain, and increase mobility.

HAIR AND SKIN SCREENING

Using a Derma Scan, a licensed professional (dermatologist, RN/LPN/NP/PA) briefly scans the facial skin to assess visible damage from the sun. While DermaScans provide an indicator of skin damage, they are not skin cancer tests and employees should discuss results with a doctor before drawing any conclusions. Employees also receive educational materials on skin health and sun safety.

EYE SCREENING

Eye screening is important because it helps in reducing the risk of having problems of vision by detecting them earlier on. The earlier the problems are detected, the more effective the treatment is in preventing visual problems. Employees working in front of computers for long hours do experience vision problems from early age.

DENTAL SCREENING

Dental screening is a quick visual inspection by a Registered Dental Hygienist to identify obvious dental conditions that are causing or will cause pain. The employees are educated on oral hygiene and curative measures to be taken.
